OK - so I'm the kind of guy who does belt and braces.

I ride with a camelbak because

  1. I ride a GT that has no sensible place to mount a bottle
  2. I've been caught without water on a hot race and swore never again.

So, I started 94.7 with 3litres of excess baggage strapped to my back. I've been using 32Gi which I like for training, but have some doubts about it's ability to deliver enough energy for races. I normally bung in one scoop of normal Biogen Carbogen to two scoops of 32Gi and it works a treat. Of course I had ran out of Biogen so I thought WTF, I'll chuck in two tablespoons of sugar. Can't be a whole lot different to Biogen ;)

Well, it is in terms of sweetness. Couldn't face the taste so didn't drink as much as I normally do. Started with 3l, ended with 1.5l - which means I carried 1.5kg around the course for no real reason.

What do you guys do?

Take two bottles of go-juice and hope you can pick up enough water on the way to make up the difference?

If you want more calories and more energy in terms of release try 32Gi Accelerate ;-) works like a bomb and sweetness is not an issue u can tone it down.

I do a 100Km, 2hr 30ish, race on one bottle quite easily. I use 32Gi and use enduren bars for snacking. One before the race and one at around 1hr30.

+1 on Acelerate - what is the difference? why is there a need for another product in the range?

Accelerate is for high intensity training or racing meaning fast release with some stability but if your no going all out in a long event I would stick to the endurance. I have often been using it, as a second bottle in testing during racing long distances, or on its own for events under 3 hours

All the best m

Why not 2 bladders in the Camelback? A1 liter for juice and a 3 liter bladder only filled with 2 litres of water. They actually sit very nicely on top of each other. You have a pipe feeding from both sides. Keeps it much cooller and cleaner than a bottle.
