Is it me or does nobody either record or share tracks on their garmins. Been killing myself looking for GPX or TCX files and seems nobody is sharing.....

mine are all on garmin connect.... how do you share them? Tracks of where or what? MTB?

I am a roadie..... pure roadie (just coz an MTB is too much added cost for my pocket right now).

See if you can find any of my maps / rides - sirk_ct

thank you kindly for the offer Tiny, but yea im more interested in the MTB stuff since the road stuff you can plot easily enough with any form of mapping software.

I want to get to a town, and follow ol trustee to a starting point of a track and not get lost lol. Maybe too much to ask. Its almost like surfing in the 80's where people refused to give away their surf sports lol.

try looking for tankman then - he is MTB too, but I am assuming you want to go to, say Worcester, and do a trail there for eg.

btw there are still some surfers with the same mentality. It's their 'secret' spot.

How to get the track/GPX file.

connect Garmin onto computer, browse through explorer to unit, and just go down the directories. it's there, copy and past into email.

The one's I have is all Jhb/Rietflei, which is well marked routes.

Going on leave in a week, and well I'm on leave a week before my wife so thinking of doing allot of riding, will either be Rietflei or the new Thaba routes.

i dont give away beer, i do however share my beer alongside the toasting of a sheep. :)

Contacted Andrew from greyton MTB, very very helpfull chap, he sent me the KMZ file for the trails around gretyon which i converted to GPX, and he offered to show me some of the unmarked trails. Big Up to Andrew.

But you will not be giving it away, you will be exchanging the beers for hours of adventure, mud filled fun, berms, adrenaline shots, uninhibited smoking hot endless singletrack, jumps & drops that will rock your world ...etc ...

If you want to do this exchange while standing next to the fire, witnessing the slow tanning of a sheep and sharing of war stories or beer, I'm all for it!

yeah welvanpas is one of the nicest routes in the western cape, not too technical, lots of really short fairly steep climbs, and the top of almost every climb is rewarded with fast flyinig ST.

I have a vid uploaded of welvanpas just search youtube for welvanpas, or covieza's channel. sorry cant paste the link youtube blocked at the office.
