Two Passes (TdB Stage 2 I think) CT

FWIW: Slanghoek "version" of this route is 118k's. With an extra climb you hardly feel (very gradual) from Du Toit's side, but if you're coming clockwise (Bains first) it's a bit more "there", just after the river where you split from (or join, if going Du Toits first) the route as suggested).

Lekker between the vineyards the whole way, stunning! And only that fast-flowing traffic for a while...

Either way - you guys must enjoy it!

Can you point me as to where to turn for the route via slanghoek? I am sure there will be quite a few people that would prefer to stay away from hectic traffic

One CAT 1 climb on the route.

Lekka!!

Was about to say "I'm in!"... and then I realised it's Friday and some of still have to work. :cursing:

:) same here! If I can be back in Durbanville by 8h30 them I'm in! But I guess then the average would be a bit higher...

Seriously tempted... have wanted to do this route for a while! Depending how the week goes, I may jump in at the last moment, with my son. Travelling from Rondebosch, so would have to get up at the pre-crack of dawn... :o Will let you know if we can make it.

A pity this is on a "work" day... would love to join

Would you guys prefer me to move it to the 24th then?

Does it interfere with anyone else's plans? If moving it means that we have more guys, lets do it

Tiny K - as you come down from Du Toits, just klap a right towards Rawsonville, that first turn-off you get just after exiting Du Toits, where the weight bridge is located. (The old road...) Straight on from there and then left at... I think it's a 4-way stop, but it's marked anyways. (Slanghoek/Goudini)

Still finding out what exactly our plans for the 24th is, I think we only have something on during the afternoon/evening. So if all is okay on the home front and you're willing to drag me along, I'd love to go! Think last time I rode this was 4:45 - but 4:30 is do-able... we had hectic wind and were just 4. But I'm sure our group will be doing it shortly again - so no need to move it on my account, it's cool!

Me for one.

As far as the date go, any one of the two will be fine, although 23rd will be better.

Family time on 24 for me.

Can do 23.

May it not be too H O T in the Boland... :D

OK, 23rd it'll stay then..... rather stick to original plans than deviate and cause more stress with previously committed riders' plans

If you can stick to 'Dale or faster, it's your pace

Nah, if he can stick with me, that will be his pace. I'm not gonna kill myself up the climbs, still in the "building phase"

I would like to ride but I don't think I comply with the criteria.....

Just think, just think... about the leg strength you'll gain in time for the Attakwas... :w00t:

Have you guys heard of Tankman? He got jumped by some guys on his commute home lastnight. Got hit with a bat / club against the ear. Sounds like he is going in for an operation today to repair the cartilage damage.

That's really bad news... Where did it happen? What time of day? More importantly, is he OK?
