Two Passes (TdB Stage 2 I think) CT

All I know is that he was on his way home after work. At the bridge past Eersterivier (at the Baden Powell ramp) he got jumped by two thugs who swung a bat / club at him. Got no more info, except that a passerby stopped to help him. Dunno if it was during or after the attack. He is otherwise OK, only know that his ear is damaged. Apparantly his bike is OK.

Sorry guys, thats all I know. This is all second hand info that I got off his FB posts.

CT Group Ride

Two Passes sufferfest

This is going to be the virgin training ride of my newly built up CIOCC

Route: as above - see route map (http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/60669038)

When: 23rd December 2011 (two days before Christmas)

Time & Place: 6:00am, Paarl Mall (Sun is up by then already)

Ideal group: I am looking to ride close to my average pace (±26Km/h) but slower guys are welcome. The idea is not to wait too long at the top of climbs and get coffee shop legs i.e. 2min max (hopefully). Others can join to the top and ride back down if they are just interested in doing Du Toit's Kloof - can even then ride towrds Wellington and do Bain's Kloof from it's steep side.

Lets meet at Paarl Mall for ease of venue - in front of the Wimpy ;) .

Let it be known here if you are interested and can make it.

Ride meet venue updated

Reminder for tomorrow's ride....

I'm keen! Planning to make it barring any unforeseen issues! Already on leave so doubt it will be a problem and if it is, it will have to wait til after riding! Hope I can hang on over the climbs. Didn't ride today to let the legs recover..

Anywhere specific at Paarl Mall I need to look out for you guys? I'll be in a silver VW Golf 5 Tdi. Bike will be inside.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN "MAYBE"!   My chaufer is picking me up at 05h30 tomorrow morning.

Better correct your mistake quick quick, or I'll let the air out of your bike's tires. :D :D

Can't get hold of Dennis to confirm. Doubt it though, as he's flying back to Lesotho later in the day.

I'll try and keep up. If I fall back to far, you can always double back and push me up the climbs. :D :D

p.s. I'll definately keep a good workrate!!

You guys got a great day! I feared a bit when I got up and told the mrs the wind may be picking up. But flippit, it's a great day out there - at least from my office window!

I'm absolutely with you guys in spirit, if you can't tell...

SeaBee, I feel for you. :D Was an absolute stunner of a ride. Weather was perfect. Can you believe the wind helped us up both Du Toits and Bains Kloof passes. Rest of the time it was there, but not so strong that it really hindered.

Did 123km in 4:35. Only five riders, but was nice group.

THANKS GUYS, CAN'T THINK OF A MORE PERFECT WAY TO SPEND A MORNING.
