Mongoose! Posted December 30, 2011 Share What is the best way to remove rust? Bought a second hand motorbike and there is some rust on some bolts (inside allen key holes and outsides of cups. {specifically on the bolts that attached the front disc's ( x 2 ) to the wheel / rim.} is there some magic stuff that I can just apply on the rusted bolts, and just rub the rust off with a cloth... {Verimark ..... } shinny galvanized bolts back ..... Don't want to loosen the bolts for now, and will only replace with genuine BMW ones. Think there was a question like that in the past as well?? Edited December 30, 2011 by Mongoose! Tiny K Posted December 30, 2011 Share Well, first off, you bought the wrong bike.... you'll learn why later in the bike's life. BMW is so 2010. LOL. I got a Yamaha Tenere XT660Z recently - I really missed riding bike for a few years. Those are splines, not allen key bolts. Replace with Stainless Steel = no rust. Btw: afaik, that'll just be surface rust and seeing the condition of the bolts, they'll still last for quite a while.
