I think you owe it to the bike shop to give them a chance to rectify their mistakes (which we humans can and do make). Often a shop's true level of service can be seen in the way they handle their mistakes.

If they failed to respond or rectify, then bring the story here, BUT with details. Your name, their name, pictures, etc. That way there is open communication and no nonsense of people hiding behind pseudonyms. Otherwise it's conjecture and opinion, which is why so many of these threads end up going sideways into the land of popcorn, coffee, choobless and now, muffins.

Thank you.

A 'choobless'? What is a 'choobless', other than a method of running MTB tyres?

Please.

What is a 'twee winkel'?

Actually, if The Dangle is involved, I may be too afraid to ask!

Very few bike shops have properly qualified mechanics. Most of them teach their mechanics on the job. In general I have found nearly all SA LBS to provide poor workmanship in some way or the other. I have never been 100% satisfied with any job.

Guess that is why I do all my own servicing and bike building past few years.

Teach yourself to do your own bike. Will save you a lot and at least you can double/triplle check everything before you ride. Suggest a torque wrench if you do.

The Break

In the context it refers to the use of tubeless wheel setups, the term "choobless" being slang. The tubeless topic was being used to hijack or smudge a similar thread https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/112568-just-disappointed-complete-cyclist-hout-bay regarding the Messiah-like re-appearance of a previously "stolen" bicycle. I took the unauthorised liberty of cross-referencing.

My apologies ;)

Thank you
