Tumbleweed Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 Heard he gave a written acknowledgement of guilt - that true? Not that I know of. I believe that he maintained his innocence.
zeepee Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I can already see the headlines: "peddling pedophile caught"
Tumbleweed Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 I can already see the headlines: "peddling pedophile caught" Not pedalling…?
Wyatt Earp Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 (edited) Not pedalling…?It's a risky language, in the country slang it's sommer trap or it would read "varkbare trapper" Edited March 13, 2012 by Dangle
Lucky Luke. Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I can see a lot of paper peddling riding on this one.

ScottBoulder Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Not that I know of. I believe that he maintained his innocence.innocence? - why did he settle before taking the stand? Why no press? actions of a guilty pervertRumour has it he signed an acknowledgement of guilt stating that he abused his power with her from the age of 15...makes you think...

But that's just a rumour. This was a civil case, so there was no guilty or not guilty. The "no press" is to protect the plaintiff as well as the respondent. To play devil's advocate, why would the plaintiff settle for just over 10% of her initial damages claim?
covie Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Because this route it only cost him 300k, spend a couple years in court fighting this, A it becomes public news and B will cost Millions. If i was in his shoe's i would just have coughed up as well. Besides if your 14 and sleeping with someone twice your age, your already mentally @#$#@$ up.So no sympathy for her.

Lucky Luke. Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Don't agree much with you here, who is to say she gave him permission. Legally she cannot give permission, which is the point of statutory rape legislation.

Lucky Luke. Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 In Canada there are two ages of consent. 16 for most circumstances and 18 where the sexual activity "exploits" the young person -- when it involves prostitution, pornography or occurs in a relationship of authority, trust or dependency
Wyatt Earp Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I have a good idea as to who the perv. is.Amazing when you see them and you don't shmaak them from the word go.Sometimes, some books can be judged by their cover. At least I look like scum. Noneking 1

Dangle if she didnt give him permission (yes legally she can't) she would have gone with rape and not statutory rape convictions, secondly I dont know many people that willingly date their rapists when they do come of age.
