fully agree although it would be nice and even logical for organisers to put litter bins at the start for everyone to get rid of whatever baggage one generated bwo gell packets and bottles before the start.

I just received an email from the PPA saying the following:

"Thank you for reporting this incident to us. We will follow up with the person responsible."

I suppose that is as much as we can hope for, for the time being. It would be great if the PPA started to implement some serious penalties for these sorts of actions.

Some possible penalties could be:

  • scrap all seeding results or penalise the person by dropping him 5-10 seeding groups.
  • If the person is already in the lower groups, he could be banned from a number of races
  • Repeat offenders could be banned indefinitely.

Why stop at littering? If anybody can point out anybody for any transgression at a funride, there will be no more funriders left to do the funrides :whistling:

Someone's opening up a can of worms...

Rather than to tear and chuck, how about this? You still need to put it back in your pocket YOURSELF though

Drop banana skins all the time, what is wrong with banana skins, they are bio-degradable!!!

Its EXACTLY this attitude that will get cycling into more disrepute... I did the MTB argus a few weeks back and on the start line the one guy tossed his Banana skin into the Vineyard on the side... (now keep this in mind... the Boschendal wine farm opens ONLY for this event... EXCLUSIVELY for the MTB Argus....) the announcer asked him to go pick it up... he argued... the announcer then TOLD him to go pick it up... in front of everyone.... his one mate then decided to chirp in and told him not to go pick it up..... there were bins every 40m about and one with in 5meter from him at the time..... the other cyclists around gave him SUCH stick then he left and went and stood else where... Now how cool would it be if 5-6000 riders all dumped there peels in the vineyards... NOT!!!!! We were/are privileged to be able to ride in the place we do and why anyone would intentionally litter is beyond me... its probably THE MOST ARROGANT thing a cyclist can do.... would you like riders to throw there peels into your yard?? post you address so we can all ride by and gooi our peels in your garden... would that be cool? so why do it to.... even in the streets! and i BET its the same guys who drive down the road and complain about the litter on the side of the road.....
