scotty Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 A Roodepoort cyclist and her training partner were attacked and robbed of their bicycles, it was reported on Friday.The bicycle-jacking took place on Ontdekkers Road, about 200m from the Hendrik Potgieter Crossing on Thursday, Beeld newspaper reported.Christa Botha, 48, and Barend Burger, 36, said they followed their regular route along the N1, cycling towards Johannesburg. They turned back early to avoid bad weather.“Barend was in front of me. A man walked in front of him. I didn't suspect anything, and tried to overtake them, but another man appeared and pushed me right off my bicycle,” Botha said.The two criminals pointed firearms at Botha and Burger. Bianchisti Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Tough to lose their bikes but at least they're unharmed. My sister lives there and I was merrily riding around that area last year. Not on Ontdekkers though cause thats a deathtrap! It also says they were following their regular route "along the N1" so hopefully they werent "on the N1" because that's just suicidal.
