Hi

I run a rohloff hub on my MTB. I just got an awesome new Commencal frame from a warranty replacement that is "belt drive friendly". Picture of my old bike (not belt drive friendly) attached.

Because its a full suspension, the distance between the rear wheel centre and the crank changes, hence the need for a tensioner.

My question... Does anybody know about a tensioner mechanism for a belt drive? I would love a belt drive upgrade, but not sure if i'll get the tensioning device.

As a matter of interest, any feedback on riding belt driven bikes? Maybe the singlespeeders??

Please let me know, seems like an awesome upgrade if its possible :)

What a lekker project.

Bring me your existing tensioner and the belt and I'll turn you a smooth pulley to replace the toothed pulley. I'll make it from nylon, maybe PET.

Good on you Mr. B.

It naturally goes without saying that such a project is pointless without pics.

:)

+1

Would love to see the progress and final product...

Thanks Johan! When i have all my goodies together I will get in contact with you.

Who stocks pulleys and belts to replace the chain and sprockets?
