Looks like Frans will play on saturday, x-ray was clear and the swelling has settled. He didnt train today but he will have a run tomorrow if all goes well

Great news, although I am one of JdV's biggest fans I feel that we need to get the young centres into the team, surely JdV will not be part of the setup in the next WC. Lots of talent waiting to be let loose on international level

I am convinced that we need to choose a young captain and let him gain experience until the next WC, also choose the best 15 and then make the player with the strongest leader capabilities the captain,we won't know who the best successor is if JDV remains captain

If Bissie was fit, he would be my first choice but I guess that depends on if he wil be able to play a full 80 minutes at the pace and intensity that he normally plays with.

 

Another option could be Frans Steyn, young, heaps of experience and captaincy might just provide him with that extra bit of drive that he has been perceived in lacking in the current season.

Goosen has also only played about 20-30 minutes since his injury..reminds me a lot of the whole Gaffie story a couple of years ago..Sink or swim
