Wrigs Posted February 17, 2012 Share Not sure if its my imagination or just wishful hoping - but it looks like the 2012 route reverts back to cutting out the big Boyes Drive climb. Can anybody confirm / deny this? http://www.cycletour.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/2012_RouteMap.pdf Check out the profile on the link above - it looks "relatively" flat around Boyes Drive. fandacious Posted February 17, 2012 Share Whatever you say Superman last years subvets avg speed from the bottom of boyes drive up until the highest point (no downhill) was 32.4km / hr. does that sound like the kind of speed you do up a major climb? Wrigs Posted February 17, 2012 Share It would be brilliant - but think it is wishful thinking! Probably is - but i would have thought that the organisers would cut that out as soon as the alternative was ready. Comming off Boyes Drive down to the coast road is always a bit hairey? Youre right Fandacious, i guess it always feels tougher than you think when that's where the front 5 broke away from the rest of the G group last year. Have a look at the Cycle Tour Website. They have a route map and route profile that is quite accurate.
