I HAVE to give my PB of 3h00:18 a go this year. Is this possible out of C group? My main concern is that I don't think I have the shape currently to hook onto the racing snakes in this group?

give it a go - it's all you can do. If the weather is good, sub 3 is possible down to L (if the riders have the hunger for it).

p.s. I hate wheelsuckers  Pacelines are cool

yeah, cav, alejet, griepel and the rest really should pitch in on those chases in the grand tours... not going to happen tiny, get over it!

Strategy is the name of the game.

Its like pro tour heaven..

having 100 guys working for you and then attacking them on the latter parts of a race!!

Now thats true Professionalism!

Favourable.. NO

Effective.. YES

Here is my prediction ... a sub 2:45 won't happen! (Unless perfect conditions, MAYBE)

There are a lot of guys that has the ability to do it and there are a lot of guys that don't.

Some of the eager ones without the ability ends up on front and those with the ability mostly get stuck in the middle of the pack with no way of getting past the wheelsuckers to contribute and pick up the pace.

30km into the race when the adrenaline starts settling, most are like screw this, gotta hang in the bunch and save myself for chappies and suikerbossie.

Hopefully this year Ill remember to give credit to guys like TinyK that solely pulls bunches the whole route, come to think of it I can seldomly see who is at the front of the world champs bunch. So you guys please take note and we can thank them later.

Just in case you were wondering, I am one of those without the ability and will be wheelsucking for all its worth! :D

Yip.

Don't waste your energy on the drafters.

Focus on your race.

feel like shedding a tear when reading this, worked hard for my A seeding, trained hard for a good argus, havent been sick in 18months and picked up the flu this week. Last of antibiotics today and feeling much better, hoping for a overnight miracle full recovery and then I will see you guys there in A. Have to make the call tomorrow.

Otherwise if I dont recover I might just cruise a 5-6hour argus with the guys from the Give ma a chance childrens foundation in their charity bunch.(but that would be a massive anticlimax :-)

That's sh@tty, man...

So who got what time from A? I didn't reach my goal but I was broke going up Suikerbossie.

and you were wheelsucking every time I saw you!

Hey, I was out front twice - over the first climb on Boyes proper (which didn't really count because no one followed and sat my wheel) and then again on the descent on the other side of little chappies and until the concrete hang over (where I was overtaken and left for dead).

I never saw you once off the front, but then again, that wasn't your strategy was it.

Congratulations man, Im sure everyone in A bunch will remember your one pull for years to come.

Nope I was not in front once, as I said prior to the race, you wont see me there since there is no reason for me to be there.

To fight for position 543 or 834, who cares!

My point being, dont be such a hypocrite, its all about bunch riding in the Argus, live with it and live with the wheelsuckers ;)

You did you turn, Tiny K, at the front.

Then you benefited from the bunch.

Balanced. Effective. Keep on doing that and you'll get better results.

There's no question that you would've been less effective yesterday if you spent more time in front doing the work.

On several occasions I was the last A rider on the road. I don't think I could even see the front from way back there. But at least it was safe there. Only after we'd shredded loads of riders did I venture any further forward. Finished in the bunch (naturally at the back), among the broken machines and grazed bodies of what was left of the Vets and ladies...

TinyK - thanks for your turn on the front - much appreciated.
