Its poor form to have the faster group and the slower group on the same part of track at the same time. everybody pays the same entry, and everybody deserves an un harrased ride. - my 2c

Better not do cycling races then (cross country/road/MTB) ;)

I have entered. Last did it 3 years ago and the cable for my front der snapped just after the bridge under the highway. Was my quickest race ever!

What to expect? Normal NF trails - good thing I know them intimately, a bit of bottlenecking and congestion

TIP - All water crossings with the exception of Fish Eagle dam are extremly slippery! You will fall.

Im going. And I concur 50 km racing at Northern Farms is not exactly flat. They let you go up and down that little hills again and again.I went last year so I have a time to beat!

For those who has not done a Northerns before. It a beautiful setting with a good combination of single and jeep track. For a race maybe a bit too much single track so if you see a gap pass on the jeep track. There was some rain Friday so I expect the ground to be just right - not too sandy and not muddy. There are 2 places where you have to watch yourself - where you go down towards the river - keep it slow its rocky followed by a climb to gear down before the time...and later next to the river is lots of deep sand. If you can pass without moering off then you are doing well.

Its the kinda place you can ride at your own pace

Aaah, that makes sense

The (26x)32x18 is used for Breedts, but only on the Hekpoort side, I cannot get up the other side without walking from the shebeen even with my double granny geared MTB :(

Glass of water and a spoon of cement springs to mind :whistling:
