So I am looking at getting a 29er, the Momsen Dual Link 6 looks like really good value for money.

Has anyone bought or tested one of these?

Any pro's or con's?

I have heard that local support and backup is very good!

Its a really high speced bike at a minimum price if they were any good they would have been smothered all over the sites, I do remember a review in one the local bike mags that said they are fairly useless geometry wise. But thats just someones opinion.

@ 13KG its not bad, I am currently riding a 13KG bike, so not fussed about the weight.

13kg with some of the lightest rims on the market with a descent groupset like that, means upgrade to full XTR XO and youll have a bike that will never weigh less than 12.5kg. Which in todays terms are heavy. Notice how they dont specify weight on the higher end bikes.

This is value for money if you ask me... Same design to the proven Merida 96 range.

R5k cheaper than the Momsen, leaving LOTS of cash to play around and upgrade bits here and there.

...and it comes with better brakes and the same fork.

Why not get an Anthem X29 for basically the same price and, as far as I know, it has the same spec (apart from lower specced wheels unfortunately)? It's also a tried and tested design with very good feedback... Even with the cheaper, heavier wheels it can't be much heavier than that Momsen.

Thanks for the feedback guys, the I have looked at the Giant, also good value for money.

Still trying to decide if i should sell my trusty Morewood Zulu for a 29er.

At least with the Anthem you know you are getting a good handling ride!

I keep saying this ... flash components are nice to have, but a good frame is a no compromise item..... do your homework and test ride the bikes and see which bike gives you the right "feel"

Could not agree more, that's why I went for the Zula.

I do indeed, had a look they are awesome, they have a couple of demo's at the World Cup in PMB, just wish they would go on sale already...........

The sale date was indicated as May this year ... hell ... he managed to start a new brand and get a bike out a heck of alot faster than the Morewood boys and girls who are still "launching" the Sukuma!
