Without a doubt, best race on the calendar, however, a lot of the good accomodation is already full

Pitch a tent at the Caravan Park. Right at Start/Finish. Not too cold that time of the year.

Best part of whole weekend is the Potjie kos afterwards. Next day going out of town you get stopped and handed another basket with fruit and yoghurt, as if the "goody bag" you received at registration was not enough.

One of my alltime favorite events. Pity it is now way too far away for me.

Best value for money cycle event  , if only i can convince them to cut out the last 1km climb at the end of stage 3 :( Best feeling for me is reaching the top on stage 4 then free wheeling the last 10 odd km to the finish and getting a beer at the end. :D

Scotty, that climb is a leg killer of note, but lounging on the grass under those shady trees whilst sipping your recovery drink, makes it worth it. And as you rightly say, those last 10km's is absolute joy.

I could do without the distance markers on stage 3 climb, i pedal and pedal in granny gear for what seems ages to find i'd moved only 100m

Will try finish before sunset this time! And I can only hope the MC doesn't play that tick-tock countdown jingle non-stop again for every group at every start. That was the only minus for me.

One can overnight en-route Polekwane se kant and drive back the Sat night, road is not too bad then.

Its a beautiful area, but sadly one of contrasts and tensions, historical and current.

Rather overnight in Louis trichardt 2 nights if you can and get the mountain bike ride in in the morning.

We have very few tensions around the Soutpansberg.

Yesterday I had a sneak preview of the Mayor of Makhado's message for the Kremetart.

From the message it is apparent that the value of the Kremetart to the region is recognised by the council and the event has their full support.

From Kremetart 2002 - who can put names to the faces?
