I need to get some form of fitness going in the small amount of time left until the Sani2c Race.

What do the experts suggest?

Running during the week for 60 minutes x2 per week with x1 60 minute interval on IDT or Spinning bike

OR

Just do all 3 60 minute sessions on the IDT or spinning bike.

OR

Just do X3 60 minute runs

Then on Weekends

3-4 hour high intesisty rides at 85% average HR

Advice please

2-3 interval sessions during the week, each separated by a light (rest or recovery ride) day. Week ends 2x 3-4 hour rides

Leave out the running, that is for early season cross training, not just before a big race. If you want to be good at riding, you need to ride.

Three sessions Monday-Friday sounds OK but I wouldn't run more than once a week - and like Robrider says - make sure you rest between sessions. Also watch out for training at 85% of HR on both w-end rides. One high intensity ride is OK but the typical 'Sunday Ride' should be lower intensity easy ride to get time in the saddle. It's better to ride the some route for 25-35% longer than going flat out and trying to finish it quickly. Faster does not = fitter. Training flat out all the time = injury!

There is still 8 weeks to go so you should be OK.

Don't run, running is the devil. Well it was for me. I tried to do some cross training ealier this year and all I achieved was an ITB injury.

Set back my training as I had to take it easy for 3 weeks.

I also need to do emergency training for Sani. While I believe i wouldn't have a problem finishing each day, I think I might just struggle to finish before the cut-off on day 2 (which would kill me). I have loads of endurance, but NO speed.
