They will use your PPA races for seeding. It is based on races timed by Racetec, which all PPA races is.

'Shova is one of my favorite races. Would like to do one again.

Just read this on the email newsletter:

Remember the new Cycling South Africa rules are as follows: "If you are a late entry at registration or you take out a day license you will not be seeded. You will be batched at the back of the race. So remember to pre enter before closing date on 17th September and take out a racing or cyclosport license for the year."

I must now buy a license for the year?, when all I really ride is Amashova and the 94.7?

Sounds ridiculous!

Doing my first 'Shova this year and pretty excited. Heard it's a great race, glad they take WC seeding. Everyone says it's harder than the Argus.

True / False?

The Amashova is, in my reckoning, more difficult than the Tour Durban although I am not sure compared to the Argus. However, if it helps, check out the route profiles of the Argus and Amashova here:

Argus: http://www.cycletour.co.za/index.php/route/route-profile/

Amashova: http://www.amashova.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=5&Itemid=10

The first approx. 16km up to Fox Hill on the Amashova can be unexpected :), the middle is undulating and the last approx. 38km are down! See on the above website that the total ascent is 1160m.

Hope this helps, G.

My first Amashova was last year. I studied the route profile but the race I did was nothing like it. It felt that I was only climbing for the 1st 36km and that people was lying saying its downhil to Durban.

Very nice race and well organise unfortunately I am not doing the race this year but next year I am back. Like the option of them courier your number to you as well

Enjoy
