OUTSURANCE POINTSMEN SUCK!!

What is this country coming too when insurance companies have to put people in place to direct traffic. Is there no money for traffic lights or traffic cops.

At the corner of Village and Simmonds street there are pointsmen every second morning and the robot is in PERFECT working order. On the mornings that they are there I wait three times longer to get past.... I really cannot figure it out......

 

Sometimes I wonder if they are not placed at strategic intersections to be visible to make sure outsurance get maximum coverage.

 

Make no mistake it is a brilliant initiative but again why are they put at working robots???

 

I think the idea is that the overrule traffic lights during peak traffic in order to react to the actual traffic volume - and not like a "dumb" light, therefore letting more people through. Have seen them in Cape Town on my route, and I think it does make a difference. Even though it doesn't apply to taxis, as they keep on doing what they want anyways..

I understand. Maybe it is advantageous to the drives coming from the other intersection but it definately slows me down period. I drive to work the same time every day and whenever they are present at this particular intersections it is sloooooow!!

Here in the Cape Winelands I haven't seen the Outsurance peeps. We do however have the local F*ups of points people to brag about. At the 4way stop at Klapmuts traffic flows and goes faster when they're not there - you sit forever when they rock up Not to even mention the spot in Stellenbosch......... there is only 1 guy I've seen directing traffic like a master pro dude there! I always get happy when he is around.............. with any of the others, you're screwed!
