The short answer is Bibs, and if budget is not a concern I would say go for Assos.

 

I have done 2 Epics and many more races and rides in mine and have not had a single problem to date.

A good fitting pair will make your worst ride more enjoyable.

if you have some dollars to spend then Assos, otherwise go with Giordana or Santini ( 2 top brand but not as expensive). Try get them from CRC ship it to someone in the UK returning or travelling to SA.

I reckon they mean that you are not meant to ride MTB with road branded lycra, eg road team replica kit etc....

MTN Qhubeka kit is the same for roadies and mounties..... so thats what i wear ;) have one for each :)
