KZN Enduro Event - 28th April - BE THERE

majik seems short until you start hauling freight, or try to rather, and then you find yourself a heaving quivering mass of sweaty hurt half way up the climb. Do that once or twice and yeah, lets then talk about short I'm thinking more of an XC-E event at Majik. For enduro, the linking of trails is definitely the way to go.

 

Who at TMTB should be approached? Imagine a weekend of XC-E at majik, dual slalom over at nitida, DH at conters and enduro over them all. NOMNOM...

this was pretty much the route for karkloof ...

 

you need 2 sections about 3 to 4 km long ... pretty much all down ... (can have a short climb or 2)

Overall trail length is about 30km, but of this only about 10 to 15km is timed.

 

So is each "lap" 30km or is the total of both laps 30km?

 

I think I'm going to give this a go. Not sure a racing hardtail is the best weapon of choice but that's all I'll have with me so what the heck.

Total route length is about 30km ... each timed stage is about 5km long so your total race time is like 15 or 20 min ... but the whole loop takes you like 1 hour 30min.

 

There were a lot of guys on their hardtail XC bikes at Karkloof .... The track at Cascades is pretty flowy with no major rock gardens so a hardtail may be good.

 

As far as i know there is only one stage at Cascades on Sat ... but not sure - will see the format when we get there

I am currently planning one a Giba and have another 4 events planned (and sanctioned) for the 2nd half of the year in and around KZN - probably 1 at giba, 1 at Balgowan, and then 2 at some TBA destinations.

 

Going to work on it with Nick Floros so should be good.

 

Will keep you guys informed. Im hoping that the one at Balgowan will be a weekend long jol as its on one of the riders farms and he said he has place for camping for the riders - so we will have an Enduro race on the Sat and then a Fun DH event on the sunday that will be run on one of the Enduro Stages that we raced the day before - so not too hectic ... and you get lifts up the hill!!
