Please do tell...

Last year I had to join CSA, Gauteng and Roag. 75 +75 + 50 = R200. Day licenses were R30 I think. Had to do 7 races to break even. This year cant afford to race as much.

Why did you have to buy day licences every time you did an event?

When you join CSA you get a membership card, that you carry in your wallet, and produce as proof that you are a member of CSA.

No day licences therefore.

Had an absolute blast out there today on this 'machine' - didn't stop smiling (OK just a bit when I got a puncture but quickly sorted)

I tried to stay with you on the tar section but even on your SS and me geared you pulled away.

Enjoyed the race, route marking was top class and WP were well stocked with drinks and eats. Not as muddy as i was expecting and 60km distance was spot on. I lost time as i had to keep stopping to fasten my seat as one of the clamp bolts fell off and the other bolt kept coming loose, besides this and taking a tumble in some thick sand the rest of my race went well.

Beer and boerrie rolls at the end

Hi Ben, what gear ratio did you use for this race? I was going to ride 32 x 17, then ended up at the river instead for what will probably be the last ski of the season... Sounds like I missed a good event!

32*18 - my only other option is a 16 that came with the SS kit .....

Probably a good combo, I'm riding a 19 at the moment, but find I'm spinning my g@t off on the flats, works well though for Wendell's... Just thought the route today would be quite flat, but then I saw Scotty's profile...

I don't intend riding it that much so won't be investing in any more gears ..... will just have to manage with those 2 ;)

Loved it.

Did the 35 but should have done the 60. Hopefuly this could become a regular race - well organised and close to Jhb - it took me less than 15mins to get home to Greenside!
