Hi folks

The Axis A10 29er looks like a really good deal. Has anyone actually ridden one? Any idea of weight? I saw some chaps shouting that they'd rather pay more for a 'quality' frame and that the ergonomics might not be that great etc but has anyone actually ridden one?

Would appreciate some reliable feedback.

Ergonomics.....quality.......?most people wouldn't even know the difference if it slapped them in the face.

Take the same frame, paint Specialized on it and triple the price and I guarentee you that those same guys will rave about how wonderful it is.

Hmmmmm.... You see that's what I'm thinking. My 2006 khs xc204 (that I paid $180 for) powder coated black gets a lot of attention. Lots of people want to know what it is. Granted, I do have Fox shocks and a decent Wheelset on her but I'm super-comfortable on her and maybe part of the fun is knowing that I put her together for 1/2 or 1/3 of the price of some of the bikes I'm easing past up and down the hills.

Just not easing past too many of my mates on 29ers these days but don't have a spare R30k lying around :-(

Think the Axis could be my horse...

I have one, it did the Epic and originally the plan was to sell it soon after and keep a portion of the cash.

Ended up keeping it since I'm enjoying it more and more, very happy with it, she descends like a monster. No shortcuts on part spec quality and it's a quality frame, triple butted 6061 ally.

Thank you Danger Dassie, that's exactly the kind of feedback I'm after!

Will get hold of one from somewhere to try out if possible. Any ideas where I could do that in Durbs? Will phone the listed dealers and see what gives.

Ciao

Looks just like the old raleigh, new paint job.......

Actually Probike never made any high end Raleigh 29ers.. the only bikes we offered last year were the Nomad 90 and Nomad 80 in 29ers and the frames are totally different. Edited by MTBRobbie
