Please I need help. I'm new in the MTB thing, got all my things now I need to join a club or just a ride a long person.

Do I join a club? Get fit first? Get someone to ride along?

Would appreciate some info and help.

Im also kinda new, and this is what I found. In my area the big clubs like cycle lab and MTN 100 were just too expensive to justify at this stage, so I joined jmbc.org.za for a few hundred bucks. Its not necessary to join a club, but I wanna do some longer races in the months to come, and I didnt want to hassle with temp licenses.

You're a bit far, but places like Northern Farm and the Toyota cycle park allow you to ride for a few bob, and you dont need to belong to a club.

Start solo first , get a bit of fitness going.

Then go to Groenkloof every Saterday or Sunday you will find people to ride with when you start (at the carpark)

and just try and keep up with them if you get dropped then push harder next weekend.

Get the friends to be honest.

I recently started riding again and already met a bunch of really cool people to ride with.

You are welcome to join the "Slow and unfit" Johannesburg group rides at any time you are down this side.
