Which XT Brakes or XT Shifters

You won't be dissapointed with the XT brakes, I suggest that option, just cause I'm running them as well, with Ice-tech 160mm rotors front & back, haven't even thought of changing to a 180mm up front, they can stop on a dime.

Your rotors look to be attatched to the hubs :whistling:

Running full xt including 180 ice tech rotors, if I had to chose myself I would go with full shifter firstly, however my riding is more technical trails, and considering we are going into winter the trails will be much dryer but the climbs are still there

Hi

Yes, they're bolted onto the hub, not a slide on with a splise.

Quick notes:

Mr. awesme weights like 60-70kg's tops, he doesn't need anything but 160/160mm Rotors, especially if we are talking proper Ice-Tech's - and in that case, he needs model RT-86, which is 6-bolt.

The pics shows he has OEM Shimano DEORE (not SLX/XT/etc).

His hubs are not centre-lock.

@TNT, I agree - this must have been the worst technical advice/discussion on the hub - ever!!!!

So what the **** were you talking about?

The OP mentioned they his rotors looked to be attached to his rims, I asked if they were not in fact connected to his hubs, then he posted a pic and I confirmed they were indeed bolted to his hubs. Hence why I said go back and reread, capisce?

His hubs are not centre-lock.

But the key question, according to the people in the know, is, are his discs attached to the rim or the hub?
