Had the same happened to me during a race where one of the nuts holding the carbon cage fell out and my crank arm collected the skew cage ripping the rivnut out of the frame.

- one carbon bottle cage and a nice round hole in my expensive carbon frame :-(

A German by the name of Arno Seyfert of customworks composites repaired my frame so that I could not even see the work that has been done.

A new rivnut was fixed onto a small round piece of carbon matching the diameter of my down tube. So it was loose from the frame, then he make a resin for carbon fibre (obviously) but he had to trim the hole away so that the rivnut fits in propperly and has a tight fit.

He fixed the carbon plated rivnut to my frame with the resin and its a sloid as a stone, if not harder!

Cant even see that it has been repaired unless u look for it and the bottle cage is infront of it aswell.

1 very happy customer!!!!
