Hey guys...

Handle bar mounted or helmet mounted...which do you prefer?

I want to use it when riding night rides at my local trails.

I use a helmet light and a bar mounted light.

If I had ride with only one of them I will choose the bar mounted light.

Both, but the helmet one does make a big difference especially in the corners! You can also get a wide angle lense for the magic lights, which should help with the corners.

I use both.

But if I were to have only one, I would mount it on my helmet so I can see around a tight corner.

Both, without a shadow of a doubt. I still can't buy my Groupon light, hope there will still be some left by this arvo :(

Thanx for all the feedback guys. I will try it on my helmet and bar, and will buy a second one if I feel I need one. By the sound of things I better order a second one

I get what you are saying, but my bar mounted light has four LED's and two of them have 8 x 46º oval lenses, which helps with cornering without a helmet light.

Both is better. If you are forced to have only one, mount it on your helmet for MTB - on handlebar the beam waves around like crazy. Not so much a problem on road.

It becomes an issue sometimes with those groupon deals. Lets hope there is something left.

More with switchbacks, thats how I went over the bars, not enough light and hit a rock, and went flying

Nice looking light - 20% higher output than Magicshine MJ808B with the same LED and 3 times the runtime out of the same battery! That's seriously impressive stats... One of those on your bars should be more than enough light for any riding though except for technical single track if you want to race down it at night. If you're looking to do technical stuff at speed then a flood on your bars and spot (like the one advertised) on your helmet or an MJ816 on your bars which gives you the best of both in one light.
