Ergofit Shocker!!!

My 2c for a mtb?

Surely a smaller frame (one size) better for you to be more "on top" of the bike?

And stem size 90-110mm?

Rather then a lager frame and a 50mm stem with a very short seat post?

I also had Ergofit done and started to experience upper neck pains on my mountain bike. I since change the 5deg sweep flatbar for a 9deg handlebar and neck pain is much better as I am slightly more upright and my hands are further apart. Ergofit catches most things, but I needed to use some common sense to sort out a minor niggle.

The rest of the bike fit seems to have worked well for me and I am now much better balanced and enjoy a more comfortable ride in general than what was the case before.

It also came to light that my road bike frame is way too big. Guess my next build would be to get a M/L road frame and do a re-build. After 2 bike builds this month, I'll probably have to wait till next month :)

At the risk of being crucified by the bike fit ekspets is it not possible that training has an influence on getting sore etc. on the bike? i.e. if you have not trained enough then going longer or harder may well mean you end up with aches and pains .... #ekwondermaarnetsoosaltyd

At the risk of being crucified by the non-bike fit ekspets is it not possible that being twisted out of shape has an influence on getting sore etc. on the bike? i.e. if you don't fit properly then going longer or harder may well mean you end up with aches and pains .... #ekwondermaarnetsoosaltydook

I'm in better shape now than ever before. The difference in performance was noticable after the setup, but so was the neck pain.

The performance is still up, but the neck pain gone. Ergofit is good, but there are areas that are not a perfect science with bike setup.

This is where these bikefit things go wrong. You leg is the same length across MTB and Road yet they suggest a different saddle height for different bike types which is bollocks.

Add in the suspension sag and you are sitting way too low on an MTB if the Road saddle height is correct.

The MTB has a longer crank length.
