My wife's ipad was stolen off her desk today.

Unfortunately she hadn't activated Find My Ipad.

Does anyone know if you can block a stolen ipad or what can be done to prevent the bastards from using it?

Hi there, if it is the 3g version, you can blacklist the unit, but other than that, not really. but if it has a passcode lock on. they will have a hard time gaining access.

Yip, we have blacklisted the data sim card but whoever has it will still have access to the ipad if they have wifi I think.

Passlock only works if it was turned off and then on again.

I have just made sure that I'm registered for "Find My Ipad"

how accurate is the "Find My Ipad"? i had TecTrac on my phone but it was only about 10-30m accurate. So no real use if the phone was in a building complex. or a multi story flat.

Not sure how accurate it is, but it also gives you the option of locking the ipad or clearing the data from it via icloud, but only if you have the app and icloud installed.

Well I am sorry for your loss. My wife wedding ring got stolen by our cleaner and now she is taking us to the CCMA for unfair dismissal. So i will have to pay her 2 weeks pay. now that's sour grapes.

Hi when you registerd the ipad when you put it on for the first time all that info you gave to use itunes then you are automaticly registerd on icloud and on icloud you can see were the ipad is. The other day one of the guys ipad was stolen on campus and with icloud he could tell the police were it is and they got it back in an hour

Sometimes find my phone works un-nervingly well other times it cant find anything.

But its better than nothing , there are a few other apps as well that can do even more - like take pics of the user and screenshots etc - google it :)

As far as I can understand it, iCloud has to be active and you still have to have activated Find My Ipad.

I tried to find hers but keeps showing searching for device.

It makes me so angry that someone now has access to our private information, photos etc. Replacing the device is the least of our worries!

The business next door saw two fat mammas walk in and out almost immediately!

I HOPE THAT THE FLEAS OF A 1000 CAMELS INFEST THEIR FAT ASSES!!!
