Dexter-morgan Posted June 14, 2012 Share You have to get a bluetooth heart rate belt - very expensive, there was one for sale on "the hub" a while ago. - PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG.
_freak_ Posted June 14, 2012 Share Considering what a Garmin cost, how much is expensive? Basically, I only need to add this HRM to have the same functionality...? Right?
Dexter-morgan Posted June 14, 2012 Share check out the Endomondo website they sell the belts there.

I have recently Sold it to a happy NEW OWNER :-) On the HR Monitor.......... Polar have one, but its not available locally. You Would think the Polar Distributors in SA would have responded to the DEMAND by now. But they (IHF) have decided not to bring them in. There is a SportsTracker HRM compatible with most apps (www.sports-tracker.com). It costs the same as the Polar Model. If you really want to use your phone, you will have to import it. It should arrive in a week, depending on your Delivery Method. The cost is 69 Euro, but the knock off 23% (EU VAT), and then you have to pay ZA VAT (14%) So if you decide to take the cheapest delivery, you should get it for between R600 and R700. Good Luck
SeaBee Posted June 14, 2012 Share Android is not just Android. It depends on the phone as well. My phone is ANT+ compatible, so can just use my Garmin HR belt if I want to use the phone (more for online tracking than recording in my case). The ANT+ receiver is a deal maker.......... If I can get a ANT+ phone I'll have a backup computer.

Anine Posted June 14, 2012 Share if you run endomondo then it will sync with your bluetooth enabled sports accesories, including HRMs. the finger on the camera thing is definitely not even remotely accurate

Scooterza Posted June 14, 2012 Share I have sportstracker - works very well and gives great graphs etc and a record of all your rides/runs/whatever. Be aware that the Sportstracker belt ONLY works with their software (which is not clearly indicated on their site). I ordered from them and got the belt in about 10 days I think. Wasn't too pricey either as I recall. I think if I had a choice again, I would try to get a generic HRM belt that works with Eg endomondo or any other software. But that's purely because I HATE being forced to do something one way (which I why I have an android phone not an apple). So the sportstracker stuff is actually good and in reality I am happy just using this.
_freak_ Posted June 14, 2012 Share I did a bit of surfing, can get a Polar delivered to my door for R950, new and all inclusive... Sprortstracker seems to be bit cheeper then... Edited June 14, 2012 by _freak_
