If you're feeling big-spender then Chris King hubs have an awesome sound. Otherwise Hope Pro II's for good quality, reasonable price, and pedestrian warning noise

You can buy my DT Swiss comming off Giant29er. Done about 3000km.

I have the same 2011 model with the loud hub .My lbs packed the hub tightly with grease, now it sound less irritating

We had a mate who rode with us who fitted one of those "I'm such a wanker, I need a Hope to f*ck up everyone else's ride with noise".

 

He now rides alone.

If you really want the noise peg a playing card onto your rear stay and let it flick against you spokes. By making the 'noise' comment you clearly prefer bling over sting.

And this whole "i need a load hub to warn pedestrians" thing is lame, If you need to warn people walking in front of you, You're on the wrong bike, wrong single track, wrong planet.
