D-Mike Posted July 2, 2012 Share I have been starting to shop around for new road tyres and was looking in the range of R250 - R380 per tyre. Important considerationsI am a recreational cyclist, but still want to ride as fast as I can, with my gear aiding me as much as possible, without breaking the bank. For the time being I have only one set of wheels and they have to serve as training and racing wheels. I would like to get 3000-4000km out of a set of wheels. Tyres I have been looking at:Vittoria Rubino @ R280 per tyre (Using this tyre currently as it came with the bike)Continental Gatorsking @ R350 per tyreContinental GP4000 @ R380 per tyreIf I can really motivate the more expensive tyres and find that they are still value for money, then I would consider them.
