Press Fit BB and Can you convert to Taper Steerer Questions

So please explain all these Press Fit BB sizes...

Is BB30 the same as BB90 (Shimano) or do the actual BB holes differ in size or is it just externally they differ?

What works with what cranks? How can I tell which size my new frame takes? All these numbers are confusing.

Ok the Frame is a 2010 Yeti ASR Carbon.

Next by changing the Headset can I make it tapered steer or does the whole frame need to change due to size restrictions...

Thanks for the help.

Regarding the headset, this is the way I understand it. It either is tapered or straight. A non tapered fork can be used in a tapered headset with an adaptor, but not the other way around, i.e. a tapered fork cannot be used in a "straight" non tapered headset. I use a non tapered fork on my bike with an adaptor and it hasn't killed me yet...

Regarding the ridiculous number of different BB's, who knows... I am glad I have standard BB's on all my bikes..

Mmmmmmm I have used a Tapered fork in a Merida Twenty Nine Lite 1800 none tapered frame .... used a Cane Creek adapter. Keeping mind it may not necessarily fit into all frames and it 'supposedly' raises the front sufficient to change the handling, I never noticed but I'm just a fun rider ....
