awesme Posted July 5, 2012 Share Hi all Ok, does anyone have a good explanation/description of Trail and cross country riding, DH is a now brainer, point it down a hill and hold on. G
DR ◣◢ Posted July 5, 2012 Share Not to dump on this thread (i also want the answer) but I think too many titles and descriptions are forced onto the sport. Take 1 bike and 1 rider and put them on a dirt track. That is all it should ever be. Man against himsel and the elements. Nevermind what the scenario. Its about enjoyment. Now can somebody else answer the OP? I dont know the answer. Edited July 6, 2012 by S.I.R Maxxis GhostRider2

Tumbleweed Posted July 6, 2012 Share If there's dirt under your wheels, it's mountain biking. Finish and klaar. slowpoke and scotty

Swim.Bike.Run Posted July 6, 2012 Share My 2c: trail riding is generally more technical, cross country is mostly faster with less ups & downs. How to rate it: I don't know. Edited July 6, 2012 by Spartan226

awesme Posted July 6, 2012 Share Also see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-country_cycling It paints the picture a bit different, most of what we do falls under XC, and trail riding is like the motor trail riding, bunny hopping over objects, not putting feet down. awesme Posted July 6, 2012 Share hehee, now it's getting complicated, As per: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_bike Trails = bunny hopping. G Trials or trail?
awesme Posted July 6, 2012 Share and just to confuse all, then there is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long-distance_trail Long distance Trail, aka allot of what we do at say a blue route at Rietflei. G Trials or trail?

If there's dirt under your wheels, it's mountain biking. Finish and klaar. Agree. Also not a fan of labelling and pigeon holing. Things don't always fit into neat little boxes. As an aside, if I am riding my mountain bike and briefly need to use the tar road, what am I doing? Edited July 6, 2012 by Clint_ZA
