Ok, so last year 21 Aug I fell and neeked up my right cuff....25+ sessions with chiro, some relief but still suffering in silence some days.

my main area of suffering is in the Supraspinatus

Can only strap it up that much.

Who else has /had the same issue? Advice, tips trick....anything except surgery.

Only thing that prevented me from having surgery was injections directly into the affected muscle by a orthopedic surgeon. Can't remember the name of the muti but one is only allowed 2 a year. Seriously long needle and the injection is made from the back of the shoulder. Pain gone after a few minutes and it lasts for months.

Well injections help with the pain, but the chiro is of opinion i have underlying damage as it wont heal for a year now.

I had 3 cortisone injections into my shoulder. think that is the limit...

I fell and damaged my rotator cuff in January - I'm only just now getting strength back, but still have days when I'm suffering from pain.

Swimming helped a lot, and after physio I went and saw a biokineticist who gave me more exercises and that helped with strengthening and reducing the pain in my shoulder much more than physio did.

If you want me to send you the exercises, just drop me a PM.

I fell almost two years ago. Tore the ligaments and muscles in the shoulder. Still not healed.

Go and see a ortho. They know what to do. As far as I know I am going to have pain for the rest of the time I am on earth :|

eish man i feel your pain! wish i could give you better news but from my experience going under the knife is your only choice! physio and chiro's etc are only gonna cost you money, i have done the Kenesio taping, the electro therapy, the acupuncture, high frequency treatment etc etc etc and none of it works in the long run.

to give you some info about my shoulder injury.... i blew out my shoulder about four years ago, supraspintus tear, sub scapularis tear, grade 3 slap lesion. my ortho surgeon referred me to Dr Thys Debeer @ little company of mary in Pretoria, this guy is the best shoulder doc in the country no doubt about it. he managed to fix me up to a state where i can ride bike, swim, run without any problems all i cant do now is throw a ball.

the supraspinatus muscle is one of four muscle that make up the rotator cuff. the problem with these injuries is you need to find out where the tear is, if the tear is in the muscle it might respond to physio treatment but if it is in the tendon (slap lesion) when the tendon tears away from the bone or muscle, the only intervention is surgery. a slap lesion is measured in grades, 1 being a small tear 3 being when the tendon is totally dislodged from the bone.

the best way to determine the extent of the injury is an arthrogram, sonar or MRI scan. i would suggest getting a proper diagnosis and then if a surgeon is required i would suggest trying to get to see Dr Debeer just be ready for a long wait and start saving up now already

Went for a MRI and sonar - didn't show any concerns though...which is beyond me...anyway.....chiro said she'll refer me on monday for some other scans..

Go under the knife. There comes a time when you have exhausted all other avenues that you have two options continuous pain or the pain of recovery. I did mine and was swimming again after 3 months. The sooner you do it the sooner you will recover.

Do not ignore the physio. It is an essential part of the post operative recovery process.

Why chiro, you need an ortherpod. Stop wasting time you are only getting weaker.
