Oh agreed!

But one cannot condone stupidity. I feel you just need to know the rules and why they are there... If you want to ride without a helmet, so be it. I am just saying that you will get hurt without it... Hell, I took off my gloves as they were in the way with the camera.

Also, the CM is about safety in numbers, so Skidd has a point. But we should work together, and apply some common courtesy doing it, otherwise we will piss off more motorists...

Willie , agreed rooi man

I was more posting in reference to peoples perception of what it is THEY expect from CM and what THEIR preferences are around it.

I had a guy last week also talking to me about the ride and no helmets and this and that.

The ouens need to realise, besides the HUB and my tril is bigger than yours racing attitude ,there is a much bigger world out there when it comes to bicycles, than only doing races and wearing some fancy race gear.

Jo'Burg on Friday evening was surreal, almost fairytale like, the camaraderie between all the Jo'Burgers , cyclists and inhabitants alike was simply mind blowing.

To cork or not to cork? Most drivers realise that there's a mass going through - they might get pissed off, but they let it happen. If you get a psychopath, he'll cause *** whatever happens. 2010 or 2011 a nutcase in a black car drove right through the middle of the cyclists from behind - it's on Youtube (Soa Paolo, I think). You can't prevent that, whatever you do.

Some bicycles were covered with these LED Strip lights. Help me - where can I find them and more important what battery do you use to run them and where can I get the battery. Was an awesome ride

Sweet! I was thinking of taking my solder iron and getting a few items from these fellas: http://www.electronics123.co.za/

I dont think me and a soldering iron would go well together - looks WAYYYYYYYYY tooooo much lke hard work!(and complicated) But would love to see what you come up with. us gals prefer to incorporate light buying as part of our 'RETAIL THERAPY' experience......

There was one custom build bike (white wall tyres I think & different front & back tyres) at the ride, anyone saw that? Looked sweet!

Nope... Missed that, but there were a couple of old Dik Wiele that were quite sweet!

Ok I found it. Ordered my strip lights from Clear Sky LED online on Tuesday, they delivered on Wednesday R199 for 5m. Got a 12v motor cycle battery for R80 and tested last night - after 5 hours still as bright as daylight.

Contact details - Clear Sky - www.clearskyleds.co.za - their service is excellent.
