How did de Kock end up there? I was very surprised when I heard him on.

It is a closed shop.

Always de Kock as a filler for any bloody sport.Maclean is dreadful as well. And as for that other oke whatis name

They need to find some new blood. That chic that steps in again for cycling or whatever is just as useless

Look how good that chic is on radio with cricket.Natalie Germanis I think her name is.She is good

In fact most of the SS commentators are bad.I like Owen Hannie and would like to see him a bit more

2. Men's cycling road race

The men's cycling road race was won, surprisingly, by Alexander Vinokourov. There is much to be said about it, but others will say it better than I can. Truth be told, I didn't watch too much of it, though as you will know if you watched it, that probably wouldn't have helped anyway! There was as much talk of the poor quality of the broadcast as there was of the actual result, which saw pre-race favourite Mark Cavendish's hopes of home-gold disappointingly disappear as Sky...I mean, Team GB...failed to close down a break and deliver their self-proclaimed unbeatable sprinter to the line.

The BBC even expressed their frustration at the TV coverage, even placing blame, because it turns out that the Olympic broadcast is outsourced to the Olympic Broadcasting Services, which was described by @inrng as "a cosy company with monopoly TV rights granted by IOC. Directors include ex-UCI boss Hein Verbruggen"."

I only watched the race last night. Thank goodness for PVR. Was able to fast forward and not have to listen to the terrible sound. Very frustrating that they only showed the km.to go now and again.

Was looking forward to a big sprint finish but well done to vino

I watched a Sporza stream with Flemish - camera work left a lot to be desired c.f. TdF

At least it was a nice sunny summers day in London. The roads were was packed, which spooked a lot of riders, story here

In fact most all of the SS commentators are bad.

fixed

Why do we have to waste money sending a team over to London to talk **** all day? Why not just use the BBC feed? Is it really necessary to have our commentators covering the Olympics in London?

They can use me, i will be up to the task. I'm a bubbly bugger and will make cycling sound like horse racing :)

Is Mrs Stander riding as well ?

naught.

team Toyota Cyclelab: Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, Robyn de Groot and Joanna van de Winkel

Mrs Stander lost her appeal for doing all the right things, but then not be picked

Cool so all the current cycling commentators are cr&p, they are either boring or know diddly squat about cycling, so lets have your names to either agree or ridicule. O

Johnny Koen

Other than him i cannot think of a single one
