I rode Modders the day she opened. The virgin trail was a bit soft undertyre. I hear it is a lot better now...

 

I heard it has gotten better.

 

What about Rosemary Hill? Bit of a mission for us Northerners but heard it's a blast.

Rode there yesterday (sorry Iron!!) and it is getting a bit chewed up but still a fine anf fun place to ride! The newish red stuff is kinda fun.

 

Modders is probably the best choice for a hub ride - fun but not too technical. 33 High Road - the restaurant nearby - make a damn fine but very expensive prego roll for afterwards.

I ride a 32x18 and it's perfect. The place looks flat enough from the outside but you're likely to spend 90% of the ride standing up (second gear) with a 32x16.

You could ride Modders with just about any gear I reckon. It will be really fast if we have some rain and hen gets ridden in beforehand.
