My teenagers MTB has some SRAM shifters. Granted they are not top end but one would expect them to last at least a year.

My big gripe is that I've been waiting for spares (which I an happy to pay for) for 4 months. The bike shop cant seem to get the agent to sort this out. I've even bumped into the SRAMrep at the shop and he said they would get it sorted. I now want to sell the bike but the shifters look bad without the covers.

Is it SRAM at fault, or the lbs for not following up on the sale?

Quite often the lbs won't play their part when it's small stuff...which is of course nonsense as they could lose a customer that way...

Try another shop - and mention that you'd spoken to the rep...

Cape cycles are not the greatest by a long shot - they don't even stock replacement mount bolts for brakes.... idiots.

Don't blame SRAM - allocate blame to those responsible for local (non) service - Cape cycles and their reps...

Couldn't agree more...I had an issue with my RockShox Revelation Race, two trips to them CC, same problem, damn thing collapses after about 2 hours riding.

Was then advised by LBS to send it to Jeff Minnaar in PMB, 18 months later (and no charge from GMR) still going strong.
