I wanted to find out from the members on the forum what you think about this deal from Groupon and more specifically how good is this device? I am very new to this so would really appreciate your input on this matter

Thanking you all in advance

Just organised a Ryder 50 for R3000 ,including Heart Rate belt and Cadence sensor, for a fellow Table Mountain Biker. Not a bad deal.

Bryton starts up faster and holds the GPS signal better than the Garmin. I have an Edge 500 and tested the Ryder 40 for a week to compare.

Has anyone else experienced changes in distance and climbing (as an example) from post ride to upload on the Rider 50?

I've also noticed this. Was wondering why this happens.

On theAltitude gain issue, I've noticed that as well, but it's not really an issue. I noticed differences in all analysis applications. Depending on your application (Sport Tracks, Bryton Sport, Garmin, etc) the uphill or downhill would only be recorded as a climb or Descent if the gradient exceeds a certain %. So for certain apps you have to exceed 4% gradient for a part of a route to be classified as a Climb, and hence accumualate your altitude gain numbers, Some apps will record a climb at 2%. Therfore the Alt gain on each app will look different. The number you see during you ride, or in your summarry probably does not use this min% gradient to record a climb. That is why the device recorded Alt Gain, and the Analysis Application Alt Gain would almost always be different, and It would probably differ from application to application too.

I hope that wasn't too long winded :-)

Thank you ... would be nice if they could all work to some standard  although then we would have one less thing to talk about :whistling:

According to the special it includes the HR monitor and Candence/Speed sensor... does that cover what is in a bundle?

That would constitute a Bundle as we typically understand it to be.

If it includes the complete bundle, the R1300 is indeed a great deal, but bear in mind, you will be buying 2011 technology.

Good point and to be honest I would prefer to pay extra to get at least this years technology, thanks again
