Hi There

Can anybody recommend a good area in Cape Town ( Southern Suburbs) where I can do a 10km time trial / lactate threshold test? Looking for a spot where I can go flat out and not have to worry too much about vehicular traffic. So basically an area with not too many side streets.

only ones i can think of include some sort of climbing:

1) camps bay to top of llandudno - we used this route for the Club100 winter TT series last sunday - starts out flat and then rises evenly to the top of the climb, it's not quite 10km - approx. 8.5km or so.

or

2) simons town up to top of smits - don't know the precise distance here, but there are no stop streets/traffic lights.

or

3) scarborough to top of smits (includes the false flat up to the entrance to the nature reserve - in summer you'll be heading straight into the teeth of the south easter) - again, not sure of distance, but must be near 10km.
