Suggested Make for Stem, Handlebar and seat post

Hi guys

ok, so give me 3 of your manufacturer options for

Stems,

Handle Bars and

Seat posts.

I'm looking at the aluminium options, not going carbon fiber, my riding is to much "fall down" still to waste money on something I'm going to break...

And then, comment on Hope components, bits.

Stem = Thomson Elite (Very strong, wont let you down)

Steat post = Thomson Elite (very light and strong)

Handle bars = Ritchey

All depends what u like as well, FSA also very good!

Most of the components on the market are all good, Hope isnt my fav, but it works!

Thanks,

I'm looking at the Hope hubs, and noticed they got a fair amount of other bits also.

Hmm. Very subjective.

Thomson is lightweight, yes, but may be a bit weaker than others in the same price range (and are a tad expensive)

What sort of riding are you doing though?

If Trail / All mountain, then you'd be better going for something 710mm up, which Thomson don't do on the handlebar side.

If AM, then you'll NEED a dropper post. That's next on my list!

My current cockpits

Brave Monster handlebar (750mm, heavier, but STRONG)

KORE B1B Stem

both less than R 300 on sale at CRC (bars R 200 stem R 280)

DH bike

Truvativ BooBar (780mm, light and STRONG)

Funn Rippa stem (heavy as sin, but strong as phuck)

so it all depends on what you want to do, and how you want to ride. It's useless recommending one company over another when they deal strictly in lightweight componentry and may not provide a bar / stem / post in your desired strength / length / width needs.

But yes - most of the stuff on the market is good. As long as it isn't Crap Bros.

On my MTB, I have

Thomson seatpost & stem (and seat clamp & headset top cap) with Easton EC70 flat wide bars

Hope Pro II Evo hubs & skewer

On their way are:

Hope headset

Hope Tech Evo X2 brakes & rotors

Hi Cpt

Thanks, most of my riding is Trail and then some XC.

Cool...

brands are much of the same, but some of the "tried and tested" that have a wide range of options are:

Easton

Funn

Truvativ

Brave

Ritchey (more towards XC though - means lighter & narrower)

FSA

Thomson (i think limited to seatpost and MAYBE stem in your case)

Spank

and the list goes on. There isn't really a BAD brand, but the flex / strength / weight differs from make to make and category to category.

hehehe

Would be so much easier if there were some bad one's, just to many nice options.
