Just wondering who else is SSing the marathon on sat?

The reason I'm asking is I have suddenly jumped up to B batch. I have been in E batch or the first two races and finished around about with my group maybe with more D batch but nowhere near fast enough for B.

Are they doing what they did last year where they started all singlespeeders in one batch? Last year it was C.

Just wondering?

Anyway good luck to all and see you out there.

Also Ssing this, starting in E (half though). But no idea how they would know, I never told them anything about doing it on a SS??

Think it must be pure seeding that you in B group, good luck keeping up! Will mush it out with the general hoard myself

What you reckon for ration? Running 32-18 on 29er. Are the hills killer on this race?

If you do the 70 then they give you an SS catagory.

I'm running 32:18 very unfit at the moment. Strong guys can easily run a 16 especially on the 40. Two "climbs" but neither are very long or that steep. Good luck

Cheers, thanks! Will swop it out for a 16 on the 40k then, no point in being a p*ssy about it.

See you on a GT Peace as well, going to be my first race on a rigid - good fun

As far as I know there is no special SS seeding - whatever your "geared" seeding is - that is where you start. There are a few SSers in A batch and they finish in "A" time.

Bring it!

Looking for bragging points moving up to the B batch :whistling: Just means you get to the beer tent earlier  Should have entered but training with the GF for 3 towers and as she does not enjoy the nissan races they are out , until the one at VG happens. This should be Rouxtjie's last geared Nissan race, so the VG one I reckon we could all test the SS bikes out.....

Damnit Eldron - I'm starting in A batch and seeing SS riders keeping up and beating me when I'm working my *ss off always messes with my head! They should put you SS racers in your own group to minimise the pyschological damage to the rest of us cycling mortals.

Not at all I reckon the made an oops. I'm not a B batcher and I'll be the first to admit it.

Yeah VG is gonna be good. Not that many SSers in the 70 last year will be good to have some company.

Not supprised it is not the easiest race out there for the SS. Trouble is the Concrete strips and the church require the climbing gears but you also have those long stretches in between that require the faster gears. Either way going to be a hard day out. Nothing we have not all experienced before

I'm an SS interloper... I do the occassional race on the SSer but mostly it's for fun with my mates and riding with the missus.

I think I'm gonna have my aSS handed to me on Saturday but the real SSers!

I struggled more with the roughness of the course last year. Had bruised palms and lame forearms for a week after. Not rigid friendly. (Ssshhhh don't tell Rouxtjie)

I doubt that. You'll smash it
