I'm off to do my first swim in 20 min

 

Must say after a lay off since this years 70.3 I'm excited to get fit again

My first session saw me do 50m before nearly drowning!!! I am up to 80 lengths in the pool, so training is still fairly on course

I just did my first 2.2km swim thumbup1.gif

 

How often you guys swimming each week

 

I'm a noob to triathlon, so my training schedule doesn't mean much, but I try to do at least 3 sessions a week.

 

My normal session would be 8x500m at about 9 minutes per 500m with 1 minute rest in between.

Currently 3 times but hopefully will get up to about 8-10 kms a week soon

Mental arithmetic...mmm....8x500m is 4000m @ mmm...1m 48s per 100m (used the calc for that one)

Yeah thats hectic

 

Just a suggestion why don't you maybe include some short stuff in your swim training instead of doing all those 500's.

 

For example do 10 x 100's leaving on 2 min. It will increase the lung capacity as well. Then when that becomes to easy then leave on 1min 50 seconds.

I also just did my first 2.2km swim and Fabes had to pick me up from the bottom of the poollaugh.png

And here is the real reason i am doing 70.3

good smoke but you guys swim a lot. how many hours do you train a week if the swimming alone is 8-10km...?
