OK here's the story, I recently bought second hand wheelset, Mavic SLR's, had them serviced and are very happy. I am a heavy guy 110kg's and I ride a 26" DS, and I enjoy going down the hills rather than up, and if I get the opportunity to get my wheels off the ground I do. I am no DH racer though. The thing I do not understand is this, after a ride, the bike being stationary standing on it's own, the wheels sounds like it is "pinging" almost like a car after you have ridden it hard. Now I would like to think that I am that stong and that I do ride my bike so hard that it has to cool down after a ride, but I suspect that there might be another reason for this. Any ideas, and possibly warnings or remedies? Thanks B

Same thing happened to me, the Mavic spokes are the problem, where the spokes join into the hub is where the noise is coming from, I sprayed a bit of lub into each "hole" where the spokes join into the hub, solved the problem, but attracts dirt like a bugger
