Quick, cheap and easy upgrade for Park Tool PCS-9 work stand

I recently bought one of these to help with maintenance on our growing fleet of bikes at home. I've always built my own bikes and maintain them myself so this was a logical tool to have.

Only problem is I don't have a garage or dedicated bike shed to do this in so I don't always have access to a workbench of sorts to leave my tools on.

Park Tool has the accessory for the PCS10 and others in the form of the 106 Work Tray which will for the PCS-9 provided you also buy the collar accessory. This in total will set you back around R500 to R600.

The quick and cheap solution involves taking an old tray from a small plastic tool/tackle box and drilling a 40mm hole with a hole-saw into the base of the tray.

Now drill 2 additional holes into the middle section of the tray.

Simply slide the tray over the tube and add a nice thick cable tie to pull it tight. The tray rests on the middle clamp of the work stand. Dead simple and takes about 5 minutes to do.

Excuse the crappy pic quality.
