I have 2, both giving trouble ..... on 1 the speed is erratic but the cadence is OK and the other the opposite is true (cadence erratic and speed OK)

Anyone had this issue? They are about 2-3 years old so out of warrantee already I'm sure!

for indoor I need both to work (Cad and speed) - for now using the one with speed as it at least gives an inication of how 'far' and speed but would like to use cad as well.

Doubt it is setup as even if I just pass the magnet by hand it gives erratic very high readings .... also tried on my 500 and 305 so I'm sure it's the sensors ...

Guessing you've tried new battery in at least one of them?

If these are around 3/4 years old then they are not as tightly sealed as the later versions.

And Yes I have had the exact same problem on two of these sensors. Speed worked on the one, cadence on the other.

Each function operates on its own circuit board (if I remember correctly, while ago since I opened one!)

Speed can thus still function without Cadence and vice verse.

In the end it boiled down to moisture causing the problem. Then newer units are sealed much tighter.

There is a DIY fix solution (cant find the document now) ... but it is pretty straight forward, using some WD40 on the connector points and silicone in any other openings to will seal the unit.

If you dont feel like opening them ... send me the one where cadence is still working ... I have a bike I can use it on, not worried about speed, my gps will tell me that! :D

Now for that drink...
