Geax TNT fit quite easy on WTB wheels, i hear they are not great for wet conditions but i had no problems with them on the Eqstra classic with the patches that were wet.

Especially on stan's rims..its like the tyre is too small and the rim too big...there is a trick to it though and I have managed to get them on and seated with alot of vloeking and losing a fingernail or two.

The problem really with geax tyres for me is their weight....moer heavy and if you do have to fit a tube in a race / stage scenario, you day is over....it's very hard to get these buggers on and off rims.

Sticking with RR snakeskin for now

I've got RR on the front and Geax on the back simply cause I feel the Geax is bombproof. Got clever last weekend and burped the RR, I guess it was running at 1.5 which I now know is too low.

BUT not sure if I will get another Geax if it is so difficult to get off. What if you need a tube? Guess that's it for the day...

geax ticks the bombproof box for sure, but ralphs feel lighter/faster to me. i prefer bombproof, thus geax (they may be hard to get off the rim, but in three years i have never had a geax puncturing so badly that the tire goo did not stop the leak and i could just continue)

Ag that is nothing...I have a training set with sagueros on and haven't had to top up air for 2 years....once they on...THEY ARE ON

Ye, but you pay the penalty in weight.

True...that is why they are on the training set....besides the weight penalty, trailside repairs(if they do happen) will probably take the whole day.

I run ralph ss on front...ikon back on ztr set

DO NOT try GEAX ust tyres on stans rims. they just dont work due to the stans profile. Even if you get them on you will never get them off on the trails, so its a pointless excercise. However they do fit other rims fine.

Great tyre for stage races where you dont want to worry about punctures is the Conti Protecttion x-king. But with more protection comes more weight - cant get away from that.

RR snakeskin 2.25 front and Ikon 2.2 back.

I get about 2500km out of the Ikon, and 6000 on th RR front .

The 2012 RR is a much better tyre than before and I can't see any reason not to use it.

Very heavy Suguaro and crossmarks are just terrible

, once you've tried the new RR. Ride carefully and get up on the rough stuff.

I'll be at the Pioneer also, going to be great fun ( SS rigid)

Crossmark is a great back tyre, ok in the front if you cut the little round knobs away, like on the right on the pic.

Crossmark is heavy, 835g compared to the 580g of Ikon.

Ikon has "Exo Protection" similar to the "Snake skin" of Schwalbe.

Ikon vs Racing Ralph: Similar price, weight and "protection". The grip on the Ikon is just better IMO and Maxxis seats easier with installation.
