I'm looking for a decent rear tail light for my road bike. I currently use some of those small LED lights that take two CR2032 batteries, but I'm looking for something that's bigger and brighter, and preferably something that takes bigger batteries that don't need to be replaced as often. Waterproof will also be useful.

The biggest issue is that my saddle post is a tear-drop shape tube (Giant TCR), and virtually nothing will sit nicely on the tube facing backwards.

Alternatively something for the saddle (Fizik) - I have something for the saddle already, but it's small and not particularly bright.

Any suggestions?

Not sure how much space is on your seatstay, but the Vis180 from Light & Motion might be an option. They also make a Mini version, but it is not as bright. I use one and my buddy has one on his DOGMA which fits on the seatstay. It is super bright and you charge it from your computer. I have used mine for 2 winters now and is still going strong.

Great. I can't remember off-hand what the seat-stay looks like, but I recall it being a bit oddly shaped too. I'll work on some suitably-cut foam to make it sit better on the sharp edge of the saddle-post. The angle adjustment looks useful - too many lights end up pointing at the ground.

This is my current setup

Thanks splat. Looks like an effective option. I take it it works with an external battery - the same type as the MagicLight front lights I presume?

Best, and only use I have for those Livestrong bands.

:)

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Yes, that's the battery under the seat. I have a seperate battery for the front light.

I can run both lights off one battery, but that requires a splitter cable and a 1m extension cable. I don't like all of that on my bike.
