Get a chain as well,

Swap out the chain, with a sram link when you swap wheels.

When ever I have a training wheel race wheel setup, I have a chain for each cassett.

Stops having different wear issues.

also, probably worth getting an IDT specific tyre, so much less noise, and lasts

Just for IDT purposes you dont need to spend much, you need to have any old wheel with a cassette that matches whats on your normal riding wheel i.e. 9 speed / 10 speed and the same ratios.

 

Does not need to be expensive unless you want to use the IDT wheel as a back up for your normal wheel then you need to factor in the other stuff to make a quick and easy change possible

 

As for a tyre, i've used a simple 26" Continetal slick (see pictures) which has done over a 100hrs on my IDT and it looks like it could do quite a bit more
